Our organic black oats are distinguished by their particularly soft husk, making them easier to digest for many horses — ideal even for “stomach-sensitive” horses. Their slightly stronger flavor often makes them especially palatable.

Compared to other grains such as barley or corn, oats have the highest pre-caecal starch digestibility — meaning they are efficiently broken down in the small intestine, providing quickly available energy. In addition, they help support the calcium-phosphorus balance, for example when feeding higher amounts of alfalfa, and supply your horse with valuable amino acids and minerals such as potassium, magnesium, iron, and B-vitamins.
